# Muzhappilangad Beach:
The Muzhappilangad Beach is located around 15 kilometres away from Kannur city centre. It is also popular as swimmer’s paradise and also considered as the longest drive-in-beach in Asia. It is one of the rare drive-in beaches in the whole Kerala region. Where tourist can easily get the facilities of driving up to 4 kilometres on this beautiful beach. Beautiful scenario, sight seen, waves, rocks these all features attract a huge number of visitors and tourists can also visit the green island near this beach.  October to May is the best time to visit this destination.
# Fort St. Angelo:
Fort St. Angelo is a historical site constructed in 1505 by Dom Francisco De Almeida, the first Portuguese victory. This ancient fort is located in the western region of Kannur town. It is also called as Kannur fort by the local peoples. This triangular fort was captured by Dutch rulers in 1963. After that, Under the British rule, this fort is used as the British station. Zeelandia, Frieslandia and Hollandia are the main attraction of this ancient fort. Tourists can also see a grave stone that belongs to the family of a Dutch commander. This unique fort is presently managed by the Archaeological Survey of India.
# Payyambalam Beach:
The Payyambalam Beach is one of the most popular beaches is Kannur town. The most interesting feature of this beach is a sculpture by the famous sculptor, Kanayi Kunjiraman, which portrays a mother and child.

16 kilometres from Kannur a small village is situated namely Parassinikkadavu. The snake park is the prime attraction of this village. This park was established to preserving various poisonous and non-poisonous snakes. Another attraction of this village is the Muthappan Temple. It is situated near Snake Park. The temple is dedicated to Lord Vishnu.
# Taliparamba:
Taliparamba is a popular city of Kannur district, famous for Rajarajeswara Temple and Trichambaram Temple. Shree Rajarajeswara Temple was built by the Tamil Chola king, Rajaraja Chola III. Lord Shiva is the presiding deity of this temple. Mahashivratri is the prime festival of this temple. Women can enter this temple only after 8 pm.
The Trichambaram Temple is dedicated to Lord Krishna. During kumbham 22 of the Malayalam calendar to Meenam 6, a grand festival celebrated here.
# Sundareswara Temple:
Lord Shiva is the presiding deity of Sundareswara Temple. This temple was built by Shree Narayana Guru in 1961. Eight days long festival is the prime attraction of this temple, which celebrated between March and April. Every year during that time huge numbers of devotee gather here to enjoy this holy festival.
# Oorpazhassi Kavu Temple:
The Oorpazhassi Kavu Temple has three presiding deities, namely the Bhagavathi, Kiratha Sunu and Shree Oorpazhachi Daivathar. The unique structure of this ancient temple always attracts tourist’s eyes.
# Pallikunnu:
Pallikunnu is a small town located at a distance of 3 kilometres from Kannur town. The prominent attraction of this small town is the Shree Mookambika Temple. Local people believed that this temple was established around 1200 years ago by Indian Philosopher Adi Shankara. Navratri and Janmashtami is the major festival of this temple. During the months of October and November, a huge number of visitors gather here to celebrate Navratri festival.
# Holy Trinity Cathedral:
Holy Trinity Cathedral is an ancient holy place of Kannur district. This church was built by the Portuguese Christian Missionaries in 1501.
# Gundert Bungalow:
This historical place is located at a distance of 20 kilometres from Kannur town. It was built in the shape of a watchtower and this historical building was once used by the Judicial Magistrate Thomas. It is also the place where the first Malayalam newspaper was published.
# Pazhayangadi:
Pazhayangadi is popularly known as Payangadi, located at a distance of 22 kilometres from Kannur town. This town is surrounded by the Madayi hills and Payangadi River.
Madayi Palli, an ancient mosque, is the prime attraction of this town. This ancient mosque was built by a Malik Ibn Dinar in 1124. A block of white marble brought from Mecca has been placed inside the mosque.
Another prominent attraction of this site is Madayi Kavu temple, which is dedicated to Lord Bhagavathi.
# Shree Subramanya Swami Temple:
This temple was built in the Kara architectural style. As per the history, it is believed that this temple was built by Lord Parashurama. Six feet tall idol of Lord Subramanya is the prime attraction of this temple.
# Sadhoo Merry Kingdom:
It is a water park situated in Chala, built in 2007. This water park has various facilities of rides like the jumping frog, family pool, jet slide, butterfly etc.
# Ezhimala:
Ezhimala is one of the famous historical places of Kerala. Once it was the capital of the erstwhile Mooshika Kings. During the time of Chola-Chera war, this site served as a battleground.
# Aralam Wildlife Sanctuary:
Aralam Wildlife Sanctuary is located on the slopes of the Western Ghats. It was established in 1984. It is spread over an area of around 55 square kilometres. Mainly this sanctuary was established to preserve the bio-diversity. Various animals like bison, elephant, boar, leopard, jungle cat, deer, are commonly seen in this sanctuary.
# Pappinisseri:
Pappinisseri is a small town, famous for Moonu Pettumma Palli mosque. This mosque is popular for its Kattile Palli Nercha festival.
# Kottiyoor Shiva Temple:
The Kottiyoor Shiva Temple is popularly known as Dakshina Kashi. This temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvathi. The Vaisakha Maholsavam is the major festival celebrated in this temple.
# Shree Raghavapuram Temple:
This temple is popularly famous as Hanumarambalam. The idol of Lord Hanuman is the prime attraction of this temple. As per the history, local people believed that this temple was built by King Udaya Varman Kolathiri in the 8th century.
# Arakkal Kettu:
This historical place was built around 200 years ago. The Archaeological Department has declared this site as a protected monument. The palace has a beautiful mosque and a museum also, that has various artefacts including telephones, fans, royal furniture and various utensils of brass, glass, silver etc.
# Peralassery:
Peralassery is a religious and spiritual centre. It is located at a distance of 15 kilometres from Kannur city centre. Peralassery Subrahmanya Temple is the main attraction of this site. As per the mythology, it is believed that on their way to Lanka to free goddess Sita, Lord Ram and Lord Laxman, stopped at the temple for a while and they left a bangle here.
# Paithalmala:
Paithalmala is a small hill station as well as one of the most beautiful peaks in the Western Ghats. Standing tall at 4500ft, Paithalmala is the tallest peak in Kannur district.
