Phulbani:
Phulbani is the perfect confluence of hill and nature. It is considered as an ideal picnic spot in Kandhamal. This place is surrounded by hills and the lush green jungles. The perennial river Salunki flows on its three sides. Main attractions of this relaxing place are Sal trees, Weekly Mart, Jagannath and Narayani temple.
Putudi Waterfall:
Putudi Waterfall is located at a distance of 15 kilometres from Phulbani. It is one of the breathtaking waterfalls in Odisha. The water of Putudi fall merges into the river of Pillasalki. The waterfall is falling down from a height of 60 feet. The roaring sound and scenic view of this waterfall create a thrilling sensation.
Balaskumpa:
Balaskumpa is a great place famous for goddess Barala Devi who is believed to be the saviour of the world. Balaskumpa is basically located at the confluence of two hill streams where the River Pillasalki originates. The temple of goddess Barala Devi is located very close to Putudi Waterfall. Chakapad is located at a height of 800 feet above the sea level and surrounded by deep green forest. The temple of Lord Shiva is the main attraction of this site. Daring Badi:
Daring Badi is situated in the highland area of dense forest of Kandhamal district. It is located at an average of 3000feet above sea level. This beautiful place covered by natural boundaries, like pine jungles, coffee gardens and beautiful valleys. It is the only place in Odisha which experiences snowfall during winter. Because of its natural beauty and snowfall, this place is also known as “Kashmir of Odisha”.
Belghar:
Belghar is located at a height of 2555 feet from sea level and situated about 155 kilometres from Phulbani. Towering mountains, thick forest and exquisite wildlife are the main features of this site. Belghar is famous for “Kutia Khandas”. It is the home or inhabitant of tribal groups. Various types of flora and fauna are present in the Belghar sanctuary. This sanctuary has huge collection white tusk elephants. In the middle of the forest, the wooden inspection bungalow is also an attraction of the site, which is lighted by using solar power. Another attraction of this site is Kotagarh Sanctuary, which is located very close to the Belghar. It has numerous collection of wildlife such as tiger, gaur, sambar, spotted deer, elephant, peafowl, red fowl etc.
Ludu Waterfalls:
Ludu waterfall is located inside the Kotagarh Sanctuary. This panoramic waterfall is surrounded by thick and lush green forest and rocky hills all around. The waterfall is falling down from a good height. The water of this fall is the main source of water for local tribes.
Katramala:
