The site is popularly known as the heart of Rourkela. Hanuman Vatika is located in the middle of the town. The 75 feet long idol of Lord Hanuman is the main attraction of this place. It is considered as one of the longest idols in India, built by Sri Lakshman Swami of Hyderabad. Every year on 23 February it celebrates its birthday. This temple surrounded by beautiful garden and decorated by the instruction of Chief Minister, the late Biju Patnaik of Orrisa.
Vaishno Devi Temple:
The holy temple is located on the top of a small hill in Rourkela. The temple is dedicated to Maa Kali. Vaishno Devi is another name of Kali Mata. The structure of this temple as same as Jammu Vaishno Devi temple. The temple construction was completed in 2003. Navaratri and Diwali are the main occasions of this place. Others temple inside the premises are Maa Saraswati, Maa Lakshmi, Maa Durga etc.
The falls are falling down from a great height on the southern slope of Gandhamardhan hill. It is considered as an ideal picnic spot of Rourkela. The temple of Harishankar is located very close to this waterfall. The temple is dedicated god both Hari and Shankar. The scenic beauty of this place always attracts huge numbers of visitors.
Khandadhar Falls is the highest waterfall in Orrisa and fourth highest in India. Korapani Nala is the best creation of Khandadhar falls, which is one of the important source of water in Rourkela. The Nala is surrounded by dense forest.

Joranda Falls is located very close to the Badrama sanctuary. It is falling down from a height of 150 metres.

Hatipathar Falls are originated from Nagavali River and flows through a deep cut valley. The name of the waterfall is a combination of two names, Hathi and Pathar. The word Hathi means elephant and Pathar means a boulder. The waterfalls are falling down from a good height.
Junagarh house is an ancient fort, which provides the information about the history and archaeology of Rourkela. It is located at a distance of 4 kilometres from Hemagiri. This site has a lot’s of caves which attracts every history lovers.
