Sundarban National park:

Sundarban National park or Sundarban reserve forest is a great national Park. It is situated on the lower part of Ganga Delta in South 24 parganas District and near to the Sundarban Reserve Forest Bangladesh. Sundarbon is a world heritage site. In the year of 1984, it was declared a national park. Mainly the Sundarban National park was established for saving the Royal Bengal Tiger. This national park or reserve forest is mainly covered by the Sundari trees that are why this park is known as Sundarban. Various types of animals, birds and nature’s beauty are the major attraction of this reserve forest. This reserve is famous as a preserver of Royal Bengal Tiger. There are different types of flora and fauna are also exist in this national park. The main attraction of this national park is Royal Bengal Tiger. Other animals and birds in the park include Bengal tiger, fishing cats, leopard cats, Macaques, wild boar, Indian gray mongoose, fox, jungle cats, flying fox, pangolin, chital, Openbill storks, back capped kingfisher, common snipes, wood sandpipers, green pigeons etc.

Sagar Island is the southernmost area of West Bengal and it’s locally called Gangasagar in South 24 Parganas. Sagar Island is one of the popular pilgrimage centers in India. The region of Ganga connecting with the Bay of Bengal. Sagardwip also famous for Kapil Muni Ashram. Mid of January huge numbers of Devotees and pilgrimage comes here for celebrating on Maker Sankranti (Gangasagar Mela).

Bakkhali is a seaside hamlet in South 24 Parganas district. The Bakkhali beach is one of the most important breath-taking beaches in India. It is located 132 km’s from Kolkata City. A silent walk on the beach attracts many visitors especially at the time of sunset. It is one of the best places to relaxing and family gathering. The most popular view of this beach side is numerous red crabs shuffling along.

Diamond Harbour is one of the famous places of Portuguese forts and it’s easily connected with the proper Kolkata. Diamond Harbour is the southern part of Kolkata is situated on the eastern bank of the Hooghly River. It is the great meeting spot of Hooghly and the Bay of Bengal. Raichak is a small town of South 24 Parganas District. It is located on the bank of the Hooghly River. Riachak is directly connected with Haldia to Kolkata by through the Raichak to Kukrahati Bridge. This site is famous for various beautiful places such as The F fort, Chingrikhali Fort, River Hooghly, Lighthouse at Diamond Harbour, Joynagar, and Ashram of Ramakrishna Mission etc.

The F fort:

The F fort is situated in Raichak town. It is one of the most beautiful forts in all over India. This fort became a great tourist spot after its restoration a few years back. This beautiful fort was mainly constructed for keeping a watch over River Hooghly.  This fort was built in Anglo-Indian architecture with traces of British and French. Now present days this beautiful fort becomes a good hotel of Raichak.

Chingrikhali Fort:

Chingrikhali Fort is another important place of Diamond Harbour. This is the perfect place to watching the best views of the River. This ruins fort was built by the Portuguese. This place is the best relaxing place in Diamond Harbour, especially on a Windy day.

Lighthouse at Diamond Harbour:

One of the most romantic places of Diamond Harbour is Lighthouse. This lighthouse is so high and too old, built with unique architectural style. If you go to the top of this lighthouse then you can see the scenic view of whole Diamond Harbour. The Beautiful weather of this destination attracts many tourists.

Ramakrishna Mission:

Ramakrishna Mission is situated in Diamond Harbour on the bank of Hooghly River. This Ashram is too popular among the local devotees. It is one of the most peaceful places of Diamond Harbour. Beautiful temples of this Ashram are another attraction of every tourist.

Gosaba:

Gosaba is a wonderful village of canning Subdivision in South 24 Parganas District. This is the ending point of the inhabited area before the deep forests of the Sundarbans start. The major tourist center in this region is Sajnekhali. Sajnekhali is known as the heart of Sundarban. Sanjnekhali is situated at a distance of 16 Kilometres from Gosaba. This way of Gosaba to Sajnekhali is one of the most adventures journeys. Boating facilities are always available in this region.

Canning is a beautiful town or headquarters of canning subdivision. It is a major fish supplier center of South 24 Parganas. Canning is one of the most popular destination because it is the Gateway to Sundarbans. The Abandoned House of Lord Canning is another attraction of this town.  Canning is a host of festivals and fairs. Most of the festivals are arranging during the winter season. “Sundarban Mela” is the main attraction of Canning town. In the month of January every year, this fair is conducted by “Bandhumahal Club” of Canning.

Namkhana is located on the lower part of the South 24 Parganas District. The Namkhana Beaches are attracted many visitors. Namkhana jetty, Ferry Ghat, Namkhana Union High School these all are beautiful spots in Namkhana Town.  It is a nice place for taking bath as well as spending time. Baruipur:

Baruipur is known as a smart city in South 24 Parganas. It is one of the major guava supplier center of South 24 Parganas District. The major attraction of this subdivision are Jamindarbari Durga Dalan, Dr. B.C.Roy Monuments, Chaudhuri Bari,

Jamindarbari Durga Dalan:

Jamindarbari Durga Dalan is known as Dutta-Chowdhury house. The unique structure of his ancient house is an attraction for every tourist. Durga Puja is the main festival of this Jamindarbari. Every year huge numbers of peoples come here to celebrating the Durga festival.

Chaudhari Bari:

Chaudhari bari or Chaudhari house is another attraction of Baruipur. This unique architectural house was built by the Jamindar in ancient time. A beautiful temple is situated inside the old Chaudhari house.
