Bandel Church:

Bandel was a port of Hooghly at the time of Moguls and Portuguese. This port is Famous for Bandel Church. Bandel Church is one of the most ancient and largest church of India. This Church was constructed under the immediate guidance of Portuguese invaders and serves as a major centre of Christianity in the state of west Bengal in 1600 AD. This Church has been capturing huge area of Hooghly District and it is popular for its artistic Roman style of architecture. This beautiful Church receives huge numbers of visitors, who come here to search for peace and gathering some historical knowledge.

Hooghly Imambara is situated on the right bank of river Bhagirathi-Hooghly. It is a major religious centre of the followers of Islam and located near Hooghly railway station. The construction of this massive two-storeyed building was started by Mohammedan Ruler Hazi Mohsin in the year 1841 and which was completed in 1861. The most attracting features of this destination is a tall clock tower over the entrance gate. The mosque within the complex has intricate designs and texts from Quran engraved on the wall. The interior of the mosque is decorated with marbles, candles, and hanging lanterns.
KMDA Park:

KMDA is an excellent and wonderful park of Hooghly District. It is situated near Chandannagr. KMDA Park is the perfect place for both adults and children. This park is covering 44 acres area in Hooghly and it is popularly known as Wonderland Park. This park of Hooghly is the ideal destination for picnic, relaxing and family gathering. Various types of flowers and beautiful nature of this park make this place beauty. This park is maintained very well by the park authority. Jaga Dhatri puja is the main festival of this place and this time a huge no of visitors come here to see the beautiful arrangement of this festival. Hangseshwari Temple:

Hangseshwari Temple is a holy Hindu temple of goddess Hangseshwari or Kali Mata. It is located in the town of Banshberia at the Hooghly District in West Bengal. Banshberia is an industrial town, located between Bandel and Tribeni. This temple was built by Raja Nirshngha Deb Roy too dedicated to his mother Rani Haneswari. An interesting story is present behind this Hangseshwari Temple. One day the goddess Hangseshwari, who came in a dream of Raja Narasingha Deb Roy Mahasay and empress him to make this Temple. The construction of the Hangseshwari Temple with a different architectural style was started by Raja Narasingha Deb Roy and it was completed by his beautiful wife Rani Sankari in 1841. If you come to this spot then you see also another beautiful temple of Ananta Vasudeva beside the main temple.

This oldest temple dedicated to Lord Shiva. This temple was built in 1729 AD by raja Bharamalla. Tarakeshwar Temple Is built in an ‘Atchala’ structure of Bengal temple architecture with a ‘natmandir’ in front. Everybody believe that if you come to join us the puja of this temple, then god fulfill your all wishes. The best time to visit this temple is the monsoon season as it hosts a grand fair for devotees during this period.

Itachuna Rajbari is a very oldest Rajbari in Hooghly District. It is situated at the time of ancient period. The other name of this Itachuna Rajbari is “Bargee Danga”. This name given by the Bengali’s to the Maratha warriors. It was built by Shri Safallya Narayan Kundu and it newly constructed by Shri Bijoy Narayan, Grandson of Shri Safallya Narayan Kundu. It was made by bricks and unique structure of this Rajbari receives huge numbers of Visitors. Itachuna Rajbari is also famous for the conservation of the antic collection. Now it is popular as a beautiful Shooting spot.
Sabuj Deep:

Sabuj Deep is beautiful deep at Balagarh in Hooghly District. It is located in the middle of the Hooghly River. This deep is known as the small island of Hooghly. It is located at a distance of 75 km from Kolkata. This place is magnificent picnic spot or attraction for every tourist. A little park is present in this Island. Spanning over an area of 180 bighas, Sabuj Deep picnic spot is dotted with pine, palm, teak, mahogany and other trees. Boating and ferry facilities are also available here.

These Cemeteries have the tombs of many important British residents, who lived in Serampore and died here. Once upon a time, it was the center of Danish Colonialism (1793-1834) till the east India company took over in 1845. The house of the Danish Governor, the Roman Catholic Church and St. Olaf Church (1808) still attract tourist, for their architectural excellence. Now those days it’s maintained by the Archaeological Survey of India.

The old Nandadulal Temple was destroyed in the time of Palashi war (1757). This Temple newly constructed in the year 2005 by Durga Rani Baral, the widow of late Shankar Sebak Baral. Chandannagar Museum and Indo-French Institute is located on the Strand Road, west bank of Hooghly River. It is the heart of Chandannagore. It was established in the 19th century by the then French Prime Minister Pompidre and Indian Prime minister Lal Bahadur Shastri. It is a beautiful art gallery of Indo – French cultural based. This museum was open for public in the year 1956. This library has a huge collection of information relating to the French administration in India.
Bari Masjid:

Bari Masjid also is known as Bari Mosque. It is one of the oldest Mosque in Bengal. The structure of this Mosque like a Minar. Once a 140 feet high tower was a part of the Mosque in Hooghly town but now few parts of this tower destroyed and it became low height tower. Bari Masjid is situated at Pandua in Hooghly District. This Mosque was constructed by the ruler Shah Sufiuddin in the year 1300 AD. Now, this Masjid considers as an attraction of Hooghly District.
